Deloria Online is not the same game it was back in the day. Instead of a simple 1 class hack-n-slash type, the game has been refreshed and recoded with brand new features and a new client.
Below are some of the new game features added to the game, as well as some stuff currently being worked on or planned for down the road.
NEW CLIENT
The Deloria Online client has been recoded and is now 1920×1080 resolution. The game offers tons of options and customizations for the user, including the ability to hide, disable or move any and all game components and UI. Players can use the new Performance Mode slider to easily set game performance settings, as well as toggle various options on and off for that custom touch.
NEW WORLD AND MAPS
Brand new world with all new graphics, continents and maps. Players start their journey at Collingwood Capital in the Delshire Kingdoms, and as they progress through the storyline they will reach other continents in the big world of Deloria Online. Players can travel to lush and exotic places like Majestic Falls which is home to the fae, or distant ancient destinations under the sun like Merchant Cove. Each zone has their own unique artwork and feel, as well as their own stories and quest hubs. Players will find Towns and Capitals all around the world which will over a a variety of unique and sometimes exclusive items.
CLASSES
Players can choose from 3 different classes (Mage, Rogue and Warrior). Each class has their own Ability Grid that consists of 3 sub-classes spread out, and players can choose from those sub-classes. Each class has a different main attribute (Intellect, Agility, Strength) and equipment armor type (Light Armor, Medium Armor, Heavy Armor).
ABILITIES AND ABILITY GRID
Players earn 1 Ability Point (AP) each time they level, which can be used to learn abilities on the Ability Grid. The Ability Grid is home to all abilities for that main class’ sub-classes. Players can choose from any of the abilities freely as long as its touching another ability that is already unlocked. This allows players to customize and choose their path and playstyle.
QUEST SYSTEM
Players can choose from a variety of quests while in the game, including Main story quests, class quests, profession and optional side quests. Quests will help players level with experience, gear and rewards.
PROFESSIONS
Players can learn all professions in the game on every character. There are currently 4 professions to learn (Alchemy, Cooking, Gardening, Herbalism). Each profession can be learned at level 1, and it is recommended to learn one or all professions in town before leaving to start your new journey.
Players can craft potions, elixirs, flasks, or even hearty meals that give beneficial buffs and attributes. These consumables can then be used or stored by the player, or even sold or traded. Even the profession reagents themselves can be sold for profit if not needed.
Alchemy: Allows you to brew potions and elixirs from plants and herbs collected from around the world. Requires alchemy brew pots.
Cooking: Allows you to cook meals from foods, harvested plants and other reagents found around the world. Requires kitchen or open fire.
Gardening: Allows you to grow food, herbs and other reagents used for Cooking and Alchemy.
Herbalism: Allows you to gather herbs and flowers found around the world to use in Alchemy.
MEAL AND ELIXIR BUFFS
Players can now eat meals and drink elixirs for extra attributes and status buffs. Meal buffs last for 30 minutes and are lost upon death. Elixir buffs last for 1 hour and persist through death. Meals are crafted from Cooking and elixirs from Alchemy.
ENCHANTING SYSTEM
Players can buy enchants for their weapons and armor from vendors in various towns or capitals. Using an enchant on an item will make that item soulbound (not tradable) if not already.
IN-GAME MAIL
Players can send and receive mail and items to and from other players via the new in-game mail system. The mail system will also be used by the server for special announcements and events. Soon the mail system will also be used for the Auction House (WIP) when it is added to the game. Players can click on a mailbox (located in all cities and towns) to open their mailbox. Players are notified when they have new mail via a mail icon at the top of the screen beside the map name. All mail is sent immediately and has a default delete date after 31 days (Server mail excluded).
FASHIONISTA (TRANSMOG SYSTEM)
Players can unlock a large variety of different outfit, head, face and back appearances in-game by equipping gear or using items. Visiting a Beauty Boutique in town will allow players to change their hairstyle and color, as well as set any permanent outfit, head, face and back appearances that player has unlocked. These appearances can be unset by using items sold in the Beauty Boutique.
PARTY SYSTEM (GROUPS)
Players can group together in a party of up-to four players. Parties can be a good way to tackle harder foes, or share beneficial buffs. Parties are also recommended for Dungeons.
GUILDS AND GUILD TOWERS
Players can band together to form ranks as a Guild. Guilds can be leveled-up to unlock additional perks, like increased capacity, unique guild banners and purchasable guild posts/towers.
PVP AND ARENA
Some zones in Deloria Online are marked as PvP maps, and allow Player vs Player combat. Players can also choose to turn PvP on for all maps, allowing them to combat on non-PvP maps with others who also have this feature enabled. Players can enter the Champions Arena in West Collingwood for some PvP practice and to put on a show. No penalties for death in the arena.
